Little spice shop with facinating goods – where lovers of taste gather, welcoming the bakers and the master chefs at home.
I fell in love with its herb cabinet at the front of the store, I falsely called it a Chinese Medicine cabinet and later got corrected to French. I thought they were very similar to what I saw in the Chinese Medicine departments, but apparently it was a French design. I tried to google about it but had no luck in finding the difference between them… The one in the shop stored a very large variety of herbs, dried spices and sugar in them.
The young man in the store was lovely, he looked after all his customers, and if not in a hurry he would give you some tips on where to use the spices you purchased (if not implusively too much!).
I have always wanted to take some photos in the shop but was afraid that the shop may not be camera friendly, I was surprised at how generous he was about me taking photos =D

Select from almost a hundred of dried herbs, sugar, salt and pepper blends and a large range of Australian native herbs and spices.
I was attracted to the Cardamom Sugar and Chocolate Sugar they have, I stared at them and wondered about a spoonful of tasting and the following consequences (=P). Instead of tasting, I made purchase of little bit of each. Put them into this beautiful air-seal paper bag.
A lot about Gewurzhaus is it’s packaging and ambience, it makes you want to buy things. Every little merchadise in there was a gift to go, without having to spend a fortune, you have something for your loved ones.
I have baked apple pies with the sugar and I love the little things it does to the flavour.
Yesterday I came up with a modified Apple Pie Recipe which is no longer a Pie but Puffs. See the Recipe HERE.
