French and European deli on Lygon, one of the places I have simply missed exploring.
The front section of the shop consists deli/charcuterie, LOTS of pate and cheese, baked goods and canned/jarred goods on shelve and in baskets, you will find all those goodies from Europe and France itself including canned Escargot!
I’m regretting not taking enough photos but this is how I like to be mysterious.
Their indoor dining is placed along the inner section of the deli, on the corridor, just opposite to the displace case for quiche and other heat-and-go goodies. It is designed for individual diners, not big enough to fit a group. It is also strictly no face to face dining – with one long couch by the wall and 4 to 5 little white tables. But what is wrong with a bit of side by side intimacy hey? If you really cannot stand side by side dining with your buddies, there are tables and chairs placed outside on the street so it is not the end of the world. But I wonder if they set up outdoor heaters in winter?
What we ordered:
Baguettes Deal: One baguette and one cold drink – $10.00 (must use voucher placed at the cashier desk)
They were delicious!!!! Pickled stuff really does make a difference. Downside was the baguette was a bit tough… I ended up picking the stuff inside and ate the baguette separately (it is smart, you are welcome).
What’s a meal without dessert to finish up? A (very) wide range of macaroon on display was tempting. Getting them was inevitable.
White: Sundae something, has got caramel in it
Purple: plummy
Yellow: citrus lemon
Pink with red dusting: Rose water – was like eating flowers
Orange: forgot
Brown: take a guess
