A short walk from Mordialloc train station, this restaurant is not far from the beach either – attracting more than just the locals to get a taste of its winning menu and their positive vibe.
Their operation hours looks full on with coffee to go from 6:30am in the morning, almost all-day breakfast (til 3pm) and open for dinner til late. There is an open area for the outdoorsy and smokers, good for a couple of drinks too.
I felt the buzzing vibe from restaurant even before I walked in – age defined through the brick walls, wooden bucket used as lampshades; the endless earthy nature along with their quirky staff, cake on display (!) and filled dining tables lifted every curious cell in me.
We were sat near the kitchen and a door to the outdoor seating, it was also conveniently located near the bathroom (isn’t that a relief?~). The menu was placed on our table by one of their enthusiastic staffs while she took our drinks order.
We had ordered:
Entrée:
Arancini – pumpkin, sage and parmesan cheese arancini balls with goats curd and rocket $14.00
Mains:
Mel’s Sri Lankan Vegetable Curry – with jasmine rice, bean sprouts, crispy roti and coriander $19.50
Ravioli – handmade ravioli filled with asparagus & almond, with lemon basil butter, goats cheese and wilted spinach $21.00
Dessert:
Creme Brûlée $14.00
Total Bill: $68.50
